Tudor and Elizabethan School Workshops
Immersive Tudor Workshops!
Inspire children with a Tudor WOW day from Marvellous History. Our “real” Tudor or Elizabethan character will bring artifacts to handle, drama and role play games, interactive activities and crafts so that your children can have a hands-on exploration of the age. We can give you a great starting point, a boost in the middle of the topic or a fantastic end and round up of the period. For a different focus on your topic, why not invite a real Tudor Alchemist into your classroom? At a time when magic and science were almost the same thing, children can discover how to make gold, or even a stone that will let you live forever!
Workshops can be run on specific topics or combined to cover the whole period. Topics covered could include:
- Family Fortunes: Henry VIII, his wives and children
- Mary and Elizabeth – sibling rivalry to the extreme!
- Music and dancing
- Religion and Reformation; the Dissolution of the Monasteries
- Hunting and falconry
- Artifact handling and hands-on activities
- Warfare and weapons: from longbows to muskets
- Medicine and surgery: kill or cure!
- Shakespeare – “The Play’s The Thing…”
- Potato! Exploration and trade from China to America
- Courtesy and etiquette – could you survive in a Royal Palace?
- Daily life of the rich and poor
