Medieval, Middle Ages, Knights and Castles School Workshops
Marvellous Medieval Workshops
Invite a medieval character into your classroom for a WOW day with Marvellous History. Artifacts, crafts, drama and role play, games and hands-on activities all come together to make the medieval period come to life. Knights and castles, princesses and dragons, Robin Hood and St George – this is the period where a lot of our stories and legends were born. Imagine what it was like to live in a huge medieval castle! Discover why people kept their clothes in the toilet, how to defend your castle against your enemies, and what to do if you’re under siege. Maybe you’ll learn a new language – even the King spoke French! From the feudal system to the plague, children will explore the daily life and times of someone in medieval Britain with fun, engaging and interactive activities.
Workshops can be run on specific topics or combined to cover the whole period. Topics covered could include:
- 1066 and all that – William the Conqueror, the Normans and the Domesday book
- The feudal system – get to work, peasant!
- Rebellion! Hereward the Wake, the Peasant’s Revolt
