Marvellous History Visitor Liz dressed as an Ancient Egyptian, seated at a table with a display of Egyptian statues

A Lifetime Bringing History to Life

Our lovely visitor, Liz Wesencraft from Traders invaders and raiders, is retiring.

Liz and her late husband, Russ, joined us over 10 years ago, back when we were still called Viking School Visits. It quickly became clear that they had so much more to offer than just Vikings and Anglo-Saxons, and together we expanded into many different historical periods.

Russ and Liz took enormous pride in creating impressive displays, from replica Viking boats to real artefacts worthy of a museum. Russ was an incredibly skilled craftsman who made authentic shoes, belts, and jewellery, helping to bring history vividly to life for so many children.

After sadly losing Russ in 2023, Liz continued their shared legacy, bringing history into classrooms with the same passion and dedication they had always shown together.

Iโ€™m sure I speak on behalf of many schools when I say that we will miss you, Liz. We are so grateful for all the joy, inspiration, and unforgettable experiences you have given to Marvellous History’s clients over the last decade.

We wish you a long, happy, and very well-deserved retirement.

Thank you for everything!
