Online School Workshops

Meet a character from history!

Our online workshops are a fantastic alternative to an in school workshop. Your class will have a one hour private Zoom livestream with a historical character from the period of your choice. Children will get to ask questions and interact with your character as though they were speaking through a magic portal! Hold your own workshop day with our additional activities both online and downloadable: dressing up ideas, period food recipes, online games and creative crafts with enough activities to keep your class busy for a full day! We keep our online visits to small groups so these can be as interactive as possible, but we can offer you repeat sessions on the same day for a reduced rate to cater to larger groups. We can even arrange for livestreams to be pre-recorded and sent to you! You send us your children’s questions and we create a personalised video just for your class.

GCSE & A-Level

Are you looking to give your students and in depth view of a subject with an expert?

Your class will have a one-hour private Zoom livestream with a historical character of your choice, along with back up activities for the classroom. Students get to ask questions and interact with someone from whichever period of history you choose.

For older students we can also present “out of character” if preferred. Our visitors are bonafide experts in their fields, with PhDs, published authors and qualified teachers in our ranks. You may even have seen some of our visitors on TV as “talking heads” in historical documentaries for Netflix and the BBC!

Limited to one class (approximately 30 students) to keep the capacity for interactivity high, we can tailor the workshop precisely to your requirements. We can encourage your students to ask pertinent questions and use their deductive reasoning skills to dive deeper into topics across history, literature and STEM.

Just some of the specialist sessions we can offer are:

  • Victorian Women and Literature
  • History of Medicine
  • Witchcraft and Magic
  • The British Empire, Trade and Exploration
  • WW2 – the Home Front
  • WW2 – Women of the SOE
  • Tudor Alchemy
  • Queen Elizabeth I
  • Florence Nightingale
  • Mary Kingsley – Victorian Adventurer
  • The Golden Age of Piracy
An Alchemist explaining about a human skull during a Tudor workshop

These are just some options – we are always happy to develop new workshops and characters, so if you don’t see what you want on the website, just give us a shout!
